Cleaning shoes by the washing machine ?

Have you ever wished your washing machine could clean your shoes? The answer is yes, it can! If you're wondering how to wash shoes in the washing machine, you're not alone! We have the solution to your problem.

Usually, due to dirt, slippage and falls, your shoes can become yellow. We have a secret: always carry tissues (or wet tissues) with you. The secret lies in treating stains as soon as possible, preventing stains from sticking to the surface and becoming hard. In addition to removing stains, regular shoe maintenance can also help increase their lifespan. Incorporating shoe cleaning from the beginning helps prevent any long-term damage.

Whether you should or should not wash your shoes in the washing machine depends on the material of the shoe. In general, canvas shoes and sneakers made from synthetic fabrics such as nylon, cotton or polyester can be washed in the washing machine. Because these are durable fabrics and react well to laundry detergent.

Shoes made from materials such as leather, suede or vinyl should absolutely not be put in the washing machine. These materials need to be hand cleaned and sanitized separately. Likewise, shoes with embellishments or sequins should also be cleaned by hand.

Before putting your shoes in the washing machine, make sure you read the manufacturer's cleaning and care instructions on the shoes. See if they are safe to wash in the washing machine. It is important to check the recommended temperature on the care label. Here is a method to get your shoes as clean as new.

You need to prepare:

1. Mesh bag

2. Clothes washing liquid

3. Old toothbrush

4. Baking soda

5. Dishwashing liquid

6. Toothpick

7. Old towels

Remember to always check the detergent label to see if it is suitable for your shoes before putting your shoes in the washing machine. It's also important to use a good detergent to ensure your shoes are thoroughly cleaned. You can try Surf Excel Matic Liquid for washing your shoes as it is specially formulated for washing machines. Being a liquid, it does not leave any residue behind like powder. Remember to put your shoes in a mesh bag before putting them in the washing machine.

Step 2: Remove shoe laces

Before tossing your shoes in the wash, remove removable parts such as shoe laces. It is important to wash them separately, as they accumulate the maximum amount of dirt. Dirt may not be completely removed if washed together.

Always remove shoe laces and soak them in a bowl of soap solution. You can make a soap solution by mixing 1 teaspoon of laundry detergent and 1 cup of warm water. Soak shoe laces for 1 hour. Then rinse thoroughly.

Step 3: Polish shoes

Take an old toothbrush and brush your shoes to remove any dirt stuck to them. You can also use a toothpick to remove dirt stuck to the soles of your shoes.

Step 4: Clean stains

We recommend that you clean the stains before washing your shoes. Dip a cotton swab with white vinegar and wipe on the stain. Then, use a nylon brush to gently scrub. It will help remove most stains.

If you are treating leather shoes, mix 1 cup of white vinegar and 1 cup of water. Dip a cotton cloth in the solution and wipe clean with it.

For white sneakers, you can clean stains by treating them with baking soda. Mix 2 teaspoons of baking soda, 2 teaspoons of laundry detergent and 4-5 teaspoons of water. Use a brush to apply to the stain and let it sit for 3-4 hours. Scrub clean with a nylon brush. Then rinse.

Step 5: Remove and clean the pads

Remove the insole and wipe clean with a damp sponge. You should not put the soles in the machine because it will take days to dry them. If they're especially dirty, mix a few drops of dishwashing liquid into a bowl of water. Use this soapy water to clean the inner lining. Wash off with a damp cotton towel. Sprinkle baking soda on the pad and leave it overnight. Baking soda will help absorb moisture. Insert the insoles back into the shoes after they are completely dry.

Step 6: Place shoes in mesh bag

Tie your shoe in a mesh bag to prevent it from hitting the drum. Add a few old towels to balance the machine's load. Make sure the towels are colorfast. Bleeding towels can stain and damage your shoes.

Step 7: Set the washing cycle

Set the machine on the Gentle Wash Cycle with cold water. Choose the slow or no recording setting. Use liquid detergent as powder detergent can leave residue on your shoes.

Step 8: Air dry your shoes

Once the wash cycle is complete, remove the mesh bags. Remove shoes from these bags. Place old newspaper balls inside your shoes. The paper will absorb excess moisture from your shoes. Keep them in a well-ventilated room with plenty of sunlight.

Please note that your shoes may take several days to dry. To speed up the process, you can wrap them in a towel and run the dryer. However, it is not recommended because the heat from the dryer can ruin the shape of your shoes.

Step 9: Crumple the plastic . bagtuffing crumpled white paper into the shoe will help maintain its shape.
